Steve owned horses while growing up in Chandler, IN, near to what is now called Castle Garden Stables. His grandparents, also living in Chandler, had property on Castle Garden Road starting in 1937. They worked hard, maintaining their land farming with horses. Since the stable is on the corner of Jenner and Castle Garden Road, they named their place Castle Garden Stables in honor of Steve's grandparents.
Steve is now back in Chandler, living at Castle Garden Stables; once again around the horses he likes so much. They bought the property in 2007 and are maintaining what was once started in 1966 (Grimm Stables). Both Steve and Sherry do the majority of the stable work themselves.
